For everyday life

Pet insurance in Central Arkansas

Your pet is part of your everyday life. Planning for veterinary expenses deserves a place in the conversation, too.

A conversation with our team

Make room for your pet insurance questions

Mid-Ark Insurance – Mark Hickman Agency offers pet insurance. If you are starting to explore it, bring your questions to our team in North Little Rock.

Start with what you want help paying for

Think about the expenses you want to plan for. Ask whether a policy addresses accidents, illnesses or both, and which treatments it excludes. Routine-care benefits also need a closer look.

A wellness program may be a separate, non-insurance product. Ask what you are buying and which benefits belong to each part. Do not assume a wellness option is included in an insurance quote.

Understand your share of the bill

A premium is one part of the picture. Review the deductible, how payments are calculated and any limits on benefits. Ask whether you would pay the veterinarian first and then request reimbursement.

Request an example using the actual policy terms so you can see how eligible expenses and your own share would be calculated. Do not assume every item on a veterinary bill is eligible.

Read the timing and exclusions

Ask how the policy defines a pre-existing condition and when each benefit can begin. Bring questions about your pet's history to the discussion, and ask what information the insurer needs.

An exclusion or waiting period can affect whether an expense is eligible. These details should be clear before you decide to enroll.

Bring the questions that matter to you

You do not need to arrive with all the answers. Make a short list of what you want to understand, whether that is cost, keeping your veterinarian or how a claim works.

For the first conversation, a general description of your pet and your questions is a useful place to start. Please do not include payment information or veterinary records in the initial website message.

Before you choose

Questions pet owners ask

Does every pet insurance policy cover the same things?

No. Covered care, exclusions, deductibles and benefit limits differ. Review the specific policy before deciding.

Can I use my current veterinarian?

Ask before enrolling. Any veterinarian requirements should be part of the policy review.

Does sending the form start coverage?

No. The form sends an inquiry to the agency. Any coverage must be separately arranged and confirmed.

General information only. Eligibility, benefits, exclusions, costs and effective dates depend on the insurer and policy. Submitting an inquiry does not bind or change coverage.
